Xiaomi ordered from Samsung’s OLED screens for its new flagship

Edition of the Investor with reference to The Bell today reported that Xiaomi and Samsung Display have signed an agreement on the supply of OLED displays.

We are talking about the OLED displays a diagonal of 6.01 inches, to be used in the upcoming flagship smartphone Xiaomi. The first batch of displays will be shipped in December this year. During the first month, Samsung has pledged to put 1 million displays for the second — 2.2 mln units.

Sources say that Xiaomi initially planned to use a curved OLED panel production LG Display with a diagonal of 5.49 inches, however, due to the lack of production capacity and delays in the commissioning of new lines, the Chinese manufacturer turned to the market leader.

The new plant, LG Display for the production of OLED panels, called E5 will be put into operation in August this year with a three-month delay.
