A couple of months ago it became known that HTC is working on a second generation of virtual reality helmet HTC Vive. The device is codenamed Oasis.

Publishing Central News Agency this week stated that HTC will make the official announcement of the HTC Vive headset 2 next week during the consumer electronics show CES 2017, which will be held in Las Vegas.

A source confirms the previous assumption that the relationship between the HTC Vive 2 and the computer is realized wirelessly. Recall, the accessory that makes original helmet HTC Vive wireless, costs $220.

It also reported the use of two displays at 4K resolution with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Resolution displays the current version of the HTC Vive is 1080 x 1200 pixels at a frequency of 90 Hz.

Yesterday we reported that the HTC Vive fell by $100 in the US. The source added that in China, the price of the device has also been reduced by 10%. This indirectly confirms the preparation of a springboard for the announcement of the HTC Vive 2.
