Western Digital managed to block the sale of semiconductor manufacturing Toshiba
Western Digital has completed this week a message stating that the California court has ordered Toshiba to transfer its interests in three joint ventures with SanDisk without consent. Recall that SanDisk is a subsidiary of Western Digital. The court order freezes the current state of Affairs to the dispute between Western Digital and Toshiba in the court of arbitration.
CEO of Western Digital Steve Milligan (Steve Milligan), commenting on the court decision, called it «a victory for Western Digital, SanDisk, and our shareholders.» The purpose of going to court was to prevent the sale before the final determination of the proceedings in bankruptcy court. This goal is achieved.
