Waymo abandoned most claims to Uber regarding patent infringement

Back in may we reported that the case against Uber Waymo ended with the court ruling, saying that Uber must cease use of the technology described in the documents stolen from Waymo.

It turns out that this was not the end. Two months passed and Waymo has changed his lawsuit against Uber. In particular, it had removed the alleged violation of three patents, so that left only one thing.

More specifically, Waymo renounced any claims to the technology Spider LiDAR, which uses Uber, noting that the defendant allegedly stopped the use of appropriate devices. Now the claim describes only one fact of infringement of a patent in the technology Fuji LiDAR.

Interestingly, a representative of Uber said that the refusal of the three counts indicates the initial exaggeration of the claims by Waymo.
