Voice assistant Bixby still has trouble understanding the English language
It is no secret that the voice assistant Bixby, despite the presence of a separate button for its start on building a new flagship smartphone, was not a trump card for Samsung. Initially supposed to be launched with support for English and Korean languages, but the manufacturer has decided to postpone the release of English version of Bixby at the end of may.
According to new data, Bixby debuts in the United States until the end of this month. Citing people familiar with the matter, the source claims that the English version of the AI is still not ready and the final decision concerning the timing of its launch is still pending.
By the way, the source also reports that research firm Ovum conducted a survey among 4000 people in the US, UK and Asia in April and may. It turned out that only 9% of respondents regularly use voice assistants in their smart phones.
The same Ovum believes that by 2021 the most popular voice assistant will be Assistant Google with a share of 23%. It will be followed by Bixby with 15%, and Siri will close the top three with 13%. Alexa Amazon is supposedly going to settle for only 4%.
