VIA Labs VL820 — controller hub USB 3.1 Gen 2 certified by USB-IF

Company VIA Labs reported that her experts VL820 controller was the first controller hub USB 3.1 Gen 2 certified USB-IF. Certification confirms support for the speed of SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps and ensures compatibility with other certified solutions.

Configuration VIA Labs VL820 includes an outbound port and four downstream. They all support the interface with SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps, fully compatible with previous generations of USB. The controller is designed based on the use of USB-C, so you can plug in a USB Billboard Device for applications using mode Alternate Mode, for example, the peripheral devices supporting Thunderbolt 3, or adapters that provide a connection of monitors with a DisplayPort interface.

The novelty is already available in mass quantities. It is used in its projects, the manufacturers of peripheral devices, docking stations and other products. According to the forecast VIA Labs, the serial device on the basis of VL820 will appear on the market in the next quarter.
