TSMC delayed, but started the production of 10-nm SoC Apple A11

Production of 10-nanometer single-chip system Apple A11 was to begin in April of this year, but TSMC has encountered some problems due to which the schedule had to change.


The source notes that the problems arose at the stage of packaging components into the enclosure system on a chip, but now they are successfully resolved. Recall that this SoC to be used in the new smartphone iPhone 8.

As for the start of mass production of iPhone 8, an analyst at KGI Securities Min-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo) believes that it may be delayed till October-November this year.



Until the end of the half-year, TSMC plans to produce 50 million SoC Apple A11, and by the end of the year 100 million.
