TSMC confirms the use of optical fingerprint sensor in the iPhone 8

Now the publication Economic Daily News citing an informant who works at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), confirms previous information. During the event, 2017 TSMC NA Technology Symposium, which was held this week, representatives of TSMC spoke about the various changes in the design of the upcoming smartphone. The lack of a Home button was one of these changes.

TSMC also confirms that Apple has implemented the ability to recognize fingerprints in any part of your display with optical fingerprint sensor. In addition, reports on the use of invisible infrared image sensors, which should improve the functionality of the camera and will be used for the application of augmented reality.

Finally, the source says that the aspect ratio of the display in the new iPhone will be changed from 16:9 18.5:9.

The announcement of the smartphone is expected on September 17.
