These funds are intended a new factory to Toshiba, which will produce flash memory with a volume layout. We are talking about company Fab 6, the construction of which began in February.

Factory Fab 6 will deal exclusively with the release of flash BiCS FLASH surround layout. The project envisages the separation of production into two phases. This amount will allow us to install the equipment on the first one and build the second. First and foremost, should begin production in the summer of 2018. The second phase is scheduled to begin in September and completion is called the end of 2018.

The company TMC turned to SanDisk, the joint venture partner producing flash memory, with a query about the possibility of joint investment in Fab 6. If SanDisk will not agree to invest jointly, TMC will invest on their own, and the new production will be solely theirs.
