Panasonic officially introduced a mirrorless camera Lumix DC-GH5 — the successor to the Lumix model DC-GH4, which has become very popular among lovers of movies. The novelty has received a lot of improvements, which is not surprising, because the GH4 on a conveyor belt lasted more than two years, and during that time there were a lot of aspects for improvement.
Probably the most anticipated innovation — 4K video recording (3840 x 2160 pixels) with frame rate 50 or 60 fps with 10-bit color representation and color sub-sampling 4:2:2. However, if it is to record to an external device through the HDMI port. And on the memory card (or the card, because in Lumix DC-GH5 has two slots for cards SD, SDHC or SDXC) the signal is recorded in 8-bit representation and color subsampling 4:2:0.
Lumix DC-GH5, like its predecessor, allows you to shoot with preset gamma Cinelike D and Cinelike V, but now there is new mode — «Like 709″. If necessary, users will be able to use the function V-Log L, however, this will need paid upgrade.
Also the camera has a number of features for professional applications like a built-in oscilloscope and vectorscope, mode of suppressing flicker Synchro Scan, recording the internal timecode (Rec Run) and external (Free Run) types. Finally, the camera allows you to choose from several formats video: AVCHD, AVCHD Progressive, MP4 or MOV.
Panasonic has worked on the AF system. In GH5 there is 225 points of focus, and the focus, according to developers, it takes only 0.05 s. In AFS and AFC modes, the camera does burst shooting at a speed of, respectively, 12 and 9 fps (full resolution).
Lumix DC-GH5 features an image sensor Digital Live MOS with a resolution of 20.3 MP without low-pass optical filter, five-axis stabilization system Dual I. S., an image processor, the Venus Engine 10, an electronic OLED viewfinder with a resolution of 3.68 million points and a swivel touchscreen OLED display with a diagonal of 3.2 inches resolution 1,620 million points.
Being a modern camera, the Lumix DC-GH5 supports wireless interfaces: Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 4.2. A wired interface represented by USB 3.1 Type-C.
Dimensions and weight of new items — 138,5 x x 98,1 87,4 mm and 725 grams (including battery and memory card). The autonomy of the device, measured by the method of CIPA , is 410 shots, and the shutter resource — about 200 000.
Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5 goes on sale in March priced at $2000 (without the lens).
