The USB specification 3.2 will be adopted in September

According to USB 3.0 Promoter Group, in September will adopt the USB specification 3.2. It enables to increase the data transfer rate on the interface while maintaining compatibility with existing equipment, because the transmission speed at the physical layer and the coding scheme will remain the same.

The speed increase will be provided by the fact that the hosts and devices that match the USB specification 3.2, will support multi-lane operation (up to two lanes for 5 or 10 Gbps). For connection you can use existing cables. This means that when you connect the drive with USB interface 3.2 to 3.2 a USB host with a USB cable-C with certificate SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps will be possible to obtain data transfer speeds of over 2 GB/s.

In addition, in the event the USB Developer Days 2017 will be presented innovations in the USB Power Delivery regarding fast charging.
