The supply of LCD panels for TVs in 2016 amounted to 258 million units

According to the research of Sigmaintell Consulting, supply LCD panels for televisions in 2016 declined by 2.5% and amounted to 258 million units.


If we compare the total area of the displays, it increased by 8% to about 130 million m2. The reason is the increase in the average diagonal panels to 42.7 inches (+2.1 inches).


On 32-inch panels accounted for about 30% of all deliveries, still the same took the display a diagonal of 39-45 inches. 55-inch screens made up 12.4% of the market, while the share of large panels with a diagonal of 65 inches was about 3%.



Market leaders are:

  • LG Display was 20.6% (in 2015 was 20,6%)

  • Samsung Display To 18.3% (19,1%)

  • Innolux to 15.9% (18,5%)

  • BOE Technology, 15.4 per cent (13.1 per cent)

  • China Star Optoelectronics Technology 12.7 Per Cent (9.5 Per Cent)

  • AU Optronics is 10.5% (10,2%)
