The superiority of the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 on the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti in Forza 7 using DirectX 12, reaches 23%
This week is expected to launch game Forza 7 written using DirectX 12. Our colleagues from the site ComputerBase.de was able to compare the performance of this 3D-card AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. It turned out that the superiority of the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 on the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti reaches 23%. Been tested and other models of 3D cards.
The system included an Intel Core i7 6850K, overclocked to 4.3 GHz, and 16 GB of memory DDR4-3000 in Quad-channel configuration. Used drivers AMD Crimson ReLive 17.93 and Nvidia 385.69 optimized for Forza 7. All graphics settings were set at maximum except for resolution, which took the values of 1920 x 1080, 2560 x 1440 and 3840 x 2160 pixels. In all cases, was enabled anti-aliasing 8x MSAA.
With 1080p resolution the list was headed by card RX Vega RX Vega 64 and 56. In third place is the GTX 1080 Ti, lagging behind RX Vega 64 23%. For uniformity of output frames of 3D-card AMD around the list outperform their competitors.
With a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, the first left model RX Vega 64, 12% ahead of rose but in the second place, the model GTX 1080 Ti. The map of RX Vega 56 was third, retaining the advantage over the GTX 1080. The advantage in smoothness still remained on the side of the RX Vega 56.
And only at 4K the GTX 1080 Ti becomes the first. Second place goes to RX Vega 64, significantly outpacing GTX 1080. Followed RX Vega 56, also significantly ahead of its rival, the GTX 1070. The uniformity of output frames remains the advantage of AMD products: card RX Vega RX Vega 64 and 56 are headed by the corresponding rating.
It is unknown whether the superiority of the AMD card in the same convincing in other games that use DirectX 12, and Nvidia will be able to change the situation in future versions of drivers.
