The share of BlackBerry in the smartphone market in 2009 decreased from 20% to almost zero

According to new figures published by Gartner, the share of BlackBerry in the smartphone market fell after rounding to 0.0%. In the fourth quarter of last year sold a total of 207 thousand BlackBerry smartphones.

In 2007, when the market appeared the first iPhone, BlackBerry’s market share was 9.6%. Over the next two years, the OS has continued to gain popularity, taking 16.6% of market in 2008 and 19.9% in 2009, according to the same Agency. Then began a continuous decline.

Today Android and iOS occupy 99.6% of this market, and mobile operating system, Google owns 81.7 per cent. The share of Windows among mobile devices has decreased over the past year from 1.1 to 0.3% in the last quarter it shipped just over a million such smartphones.
