The new center of research and development, LG will robots and batteries for electric vehicles
LG yesterday announced plans to create a single centre of research and development LG Lab Japan in Tokyo, which will bring together five existing Japanese centres with all staff and technology to improve the efficiency.
Currently in Japan there are five centres of research and development that are managed by the divisions of LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Innotek, LG Chem and LG Hausys. Unificatory new center will be located at the current center of LG Electronics in Tokyo’s Shinagawa district.
The Korean manufacturer also plans to increase the number of staff of the new center for 1000 people and build a new hostel in Yokohama for their placement.
LG Japan Lab will be engaged in different projects, with an emphasis on robotics and batteries for electric vehicles.
