The market for wearable electronic devices will return to stable growth after a slight slowdown recorded in 2016. This opinion is shared by experts of the analytical company IDC, explains the slowdown in the output delay of the basic platform.
According to the forecast IDC, sales of wearable electronic devices in 2016, which amounted to 102.4 million units by 2021 will rise to 237,5 million. These indicators correspond to average annual growth of 18.3%.
Analysts note that in the structure of sales in the coming years will dominate the device, worn on the hand. Simply put, watches and bracelets. Last year they were shipped to 49.2 and 48.7 million, respectively, which corresponds to a 48.1% and 47.6% of the market. By 2021, the supply hours will increase to 152,0 million pieces that will fit 64,0% of the market. The share of bracelets will be reduced to 24.2%, as their delivery will grow only up to 57.5 million units.
Noteworthy is the growth segment of smart garments from 1.2% to 9.4% due to increased sales from 1.3 to 22.3 million shares, or 76.6% in the year.
