The manufacturer has described the device AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X
The manufacturer revealed technical details relating to the device CPU AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X, sales of which began yesterday.
The youngest model in the lineup features eight cores that can run 16 threads. At the same time, it is known that the design of this processor is not different from the design of other models of AMD Ryzen Threadripper with the number of cores to 16 and AMD Epyc with the number of cores up to 32, and includes four crystal Zeppelin on the eight cores on a common intermediate substrate.
According to AMD, two of the crystal is completely blocked and the other blocked one Quad complex (CCX). However, the cache memory and all the peripheral blocks of the two crystals are active and available to the remaining cores.
As a result, the configuration of the processor includes 16 MB cache third level, four-channel memory interface and 64 lines PCIe. This AMD processor Ryzen Threadripper 1900X $550 differs from the more affordable models Ryzen 1800X with the same number of cores.
It remains to add that blocked CCX located diagonally, probably for a more uniform heat distribution and improved cooling.
