The manufacturer explained the rejection of the use of the 3.5 mm Jack in the smartphone Xiaomi Mi 6
Recently announced the smartphone Xiaomi Mi 6 only got the USB type-C, but lost its usual 3.5 mm connector for headphones. The manufacturer installs the appropriate device adapter, which will allow you to continue to use the usual wired headset.
Xiaomi became the revolutionary in this regard, last year the Chinese company LeEco refused to use the 3.5 mm connector, leaving its new smartphones only USB C. Then 3.5 mm Jack disappeared from the iPhone 7.
Most of the producers, explaining the reason why they removed the plug, say that it is outdated, and the water resistance of the device. While Xiaomi Mi 6 is only protected against splashes, immersion under water, it will not stand.
Xiaomi official blog stated that the 3.5 mm plug was removed, to make room in the housing for other components, in particular for the more capacious battery. It is also allowed to place separately from other interfaces charging and data transfer smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi 6 will go on sale in China this week, in the foreseeable future the smartphone will appear in other countries, including Ukraine, but not in the US.
