The largest supplier of large LCD panels is BOE. Samsung Display ranked fifth
As reported by DigiTimes, citing data from market research firm IDC, shipments of large LCD panels in the fourth quarter of 2016 amounted to 204 million units. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2015, the decline was 6.1%.
We are talking about displays that are designed for TVs, laptops, monitors and tablets. Supply of panels for monitors and televisions decreased by 3.4% and 4.5%, respectively. The leader in these categories is the company LG Display.
But panels for laptops used by 5.1% more popular than a year earlier, reaching maximum values (48 million units) in the first quarter of 2013. In terms of tablets and laptops dominated the BOE.
The leader in the overall ranking of the best suppliers of large LCD panels has also been BOE with a share of 22%, followed by LG Display (19,1%), Innolux (16,2%), AU Optronics (13,6%) and Samsung Display (10.4 percent).
