The largest Korean Samsung, the taxpayer owes the state another $440 million
We recently reported that Samsung Electronics is the largest taxpayer in South Korea. In 2015, the company paid of 2.88 billion dollars in taxes, which amounted to about 7.1% of income Samsung.
However, even the most diligent taxpayer can failure to pay to the state Treasury, the national tax service of South Korea (National Tax Service), which in the course of the next check found a bug in how Samsung Electronics calculates its corporate expenses.
Due to errors identified Samsung Electronics must pay an additional 440 million dollars in taxes. The source adds that Samsung and the national tax service on different interpretations of local tax laws, adding that the South Korean manufacturer will defend its position in court.
