The increased yield has allowed LG Display to increase the production of OLED TV panels next year

In January of this year the leadership of the LG Display was the aim to release this year 1 million OLED panels designed for TVs, and next year — 1.5 million of these panels. For comparison: in 2015, the company shipped 0.4 million OLED TV panels.

According to the source, the South Korean manufacturer has recently increased the plan for 2017 to 1.7 million panels. This was possible because it was possible to increase the yield rate of products. Note that the increase in supply could also be a consequence of changes in the ratio of 65-inch and 55-inch panels in favor of the latter.

In early summer it became known that rival LG Display, Samsung Display selects for the expansion of the OLED more than $ 2.5 billion in addition to the previously allocated $ 1.7 billion.
