The first Assembly of Lineage OS will be released in the near future

At the end of last year, quite unexpectedly, we learned about the closing of the company Cyanogen and the dissolution of the CyanogenMod project. More precisely, about the renaming of the last in Lineage OS.

As reported at the Lineage OS build for smartphones, running Android 6.0 and 7.0 is almost ready and will be available in the near future. To install it, it will be possible for the devices on which you could put CM13 and CM14.1, but the exact list of more than 80 devices, developers will publish later.

It is noted that unlike CyanogenMod, Lineage OS will not by default grant root permissions. To activate them will either need to use an optional package, or add it to the Assembly if she is going alone.

Users must also take into account the fact that changing the firmware will delete all settings and user data. To avoid this, you can set the Assembly on top of CyanogenMod.
