The development of Altia Systems allows to obtain panoramic video in real-time using a dual camera and PanaCast SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
On the opened today in Nuremberg Embedded World exhibition company Altia Systems, specializing in the production of panoramic cameras, brought development, demonstrating the capabilities of the proprietary PanaCast Computer Vision Engine.
The system includes a new camera PanaCast, a suitable size for integration into smartphones. The chamber consists of two standard modules with resolution of 3 MP. Data are processed by a single-chip system Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, forming a video resolution of 5.5 MP corresponding to a viewing angle of 130°. Frames a resolution of 3568 x 1536 pixels are generated in real time with a frequency of 30/s. According to Altia Systems, a video more like what the human eye sees compared to a video obtained by a single camera device with a field angle of 60°-80°. At the same time, using the data of the two cameras, it is possible to avoid distortion and to overcome the limitations inherent to ultra-wide angle cameras.
