Tests adapter Radeon Vega Frontier Edition 3DMark demonstrate the performance of the GeForce GTX 1080

Yesterday, AMD began selling professional 3D-card Radeon Vega Frontier Edition, which is the first available bearer GPU Vega 10. Recall, the device with the air and is available only this modification, estimated at $ 1,000.

Today the first customers have received their adapters and some time to test the new car. First, here is a screenshot of GPU-Z, which, however, determines correctly not all of the parameters (for example, the memory manufacturer).

As you can see, the GPU operates at a frequency of 1600 MHz, which is an excellent result for such a complex graphics processor. The memory works at a frequency of 945 MHz. The owner of the adapter tested the device in the package 3DMark.

On average, adapter, gaining about 21 000-23, 000 points (GPU Score) in 3DMark Fire Strike in Performance mode. This roughly corresponds to the result of the GeForce GTX 1080. In the same test mode Extreme card gaining 10 500 points, about 5% avoiding the same opponent from the camp of Nvidia, but considerably behind the GTX 1080 Ti. In Ultra mode the result of the new AMD — 5336 points, which is slightly less than GTX 1080.

All results are obtained in a game mode available in the driver. Thus, remembering the promises AMD that Radeon RX Vega in games will be faster Radeon Vega Frontier Edition, but given the almost identical parameters, we can assume that the gaming flagship of AMD will still be a competitor that is the GeForce GTX 1080. It remains to wait for the announcement to know the price and power consumption, which is clearly higher than the Nvidia cards.
