Test performance in applications and games, virtual reality VR Nvidia FCAT is available for download
Nvidia has made available for download a software package to determine the performance in applications and games for virtual reality. It’s called the FCAT and addressed to VR developers and VR enthusiasts.
FCAT VR allows to determine real-world performance, given the missed and duplicated frames, causing discomfort in apps and games.
To obtain accurate results, FCAT VR uses statistics Nvidia driver events Event Tracing for Windows (ETW) in the case of Oculus Rift and SteamVR API calls in the case of the HTC Vive. The results of the test run are saved and can be analyzed to identify bottlenecks, and to compare different combinations of hardware and software.
