Started production of 10-nanometer SoC Samsung Exynos Series 9 8895
Samsung Electronics announced the beginning of serial production of single-chip systems Exynos Series 9 8895. This is the first Samsung SoC, manufactured on a 10-nanometer technology FinFET with improved bulk structure of transistors, which provides performance gain of up to 27% and reduced energy consumption up to 40% compared to the 14-nanometer technology.
8895 built-in Exynos modem Gigabit LTE support aggregation of five carriers (5CA). It provides speed up to 1 Gbps (Cat.16) using 5CA and transfer rate up to 150 Mbps (Cat.13) using 2CA.
The composition includes 8895 Exynos OCTA core processor with four cores of its own design Samsung and four cores ARM Cortex-A53 and GPU ARM Mali-G71 and a generic codec that supports recording and playback of 4K UHD videos with a frame rate of 120 K/S. the Manufacturer notes orientation Exynos 8895 on VR apps. In addition, Exynos 8895 has a separate processor for tasks related to security, including security of mobile payments, and video processor for machine vision applications, including image recognition.
Serial production of 10-nanometer SoC Samsung Exynos Series 9 8895 has already begun.
