Standardized HDMI mode Alternate Mode for connecting a USB C
Presents specifications of the HDMI mode, Alternate Mode, developed by the HDMI Founders to connect USB-C. the Development will allow to connect monitors and TVs with HDMI ports USB-C directly, without any adapters. Transmission of HDMI signals provide a simple cable with HDMI connector on one end and a USB type-C on the other.
Verify that everything has been released of a display device with an HDMI compatible with the new regime. HDMI is very common — only this year will be shipped to almost 290 million monitors, projectors and televisions that have at least one HDMI input. All in all the world we have nearly 6 billion of these devices.
With regard to devices with USB-C, they will need to support the new regime. The mode corresponds to the capabilities of HDMI 1.4 b, including resolutions up to 4K, channel, Audio Return Channel (ARC), 3D support, HDMI Ethernet channel and Channel control function Consumer Electronic Control (CEC).
