SSDs Toshiba XG5 with support for NVMe using the 64-layer flash memory
Toshiba has announced the release of SSDs XG5. These drives size M. 2 2280 supports the NVMe Protocol. The series includes models with capacity of 256, 512 and 1024 GB. They use a 64-layer flash memory TLC BiCS FLASH.
The manufacturer notes that the presence of a PCIe Gen3 x 4 and the cache memory of the SLC allowed us to obtain sequential write speed 2100 MB/s sequential reads, and 3000 MB/s. Another advantage of the new SSDS is low power consumption. Compared with previous solid-state drives Toshiba power consumption in standby mode reduced by more than 50%. It does not exceed 3 mW.
Shipment of the evaluation samples of the new drives customers from among the OEM has already begun, but so far, in limited quantities. The manufacturer expects to gradually increase production, since the third quarter. Be the first to see the Toshiba SSD XG5 can visitors to the exhibition Computex 2017, which opens tomorrow.
