Sources predict a rise in the popularity of the Samsung AMOLED display, made by technology Y-OCTA

As reported by various sources, Samsung Electronics will use in the Galaxy S9 and S9+ displays of its own production, made with technology OLED and Y-OCTA.

We will remind, the first device company with a Super AMOLED display, which was made according to the technology Y-OCTA was Samsung Galaxy Note7. This technology allows you to embed touch sensors directly into the display, refusing additional touchpad between the screen and protective glass. This allows to reduce the thickness of the device and reduce production costs by about 30%.

Sources believe that the volume of production of such displays Samsung Display will increase from the current 3-4 million units per month to 10 million panels a month by next year. Samsung has already significantly increased output of quality products. Insiders believe that the popularization of displays made according to the technology Y-OCTA is only a matter of time.

It is also noted that companies that had previously supplied the sensor layer for displays of smartphones suffer from the promotion of Y-OCTA.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will have displays with a diagonal of 5.77 and 6.22 inches under the surface of which should be a place for the fingerprint scanner.
