Sony will resume production of vinyl records
After almost thirty years, the Japanese company Sony Music Entertainment will resume production of vinyl records. The decision was dictated by the growing demand for these products by lovers of sound.
In accordance with the plan, a new production line, scheduled to begin production in 2018.
On vinyl, it is planned to republish many of the old recordings and new hits that Sony has. In addition, the company will accept third party orders. Equipment for the manufacture of master disks already installed in a recording Studio, Sony Music in Tokyo.
Recently there has been a surge of interest in records on vinyl. Last year in the US and the UK has sold 17.2 million of records that surpassed the digital segment. Interestingly, 70% of buyers aged 35 years or less.
