Solid state drives Toshiba BG, size M. 2, NVMe support shown at CES 2017

Toshiba showed at CES 2017 SSDs BG series, production of which was announced in August last year. Deliveries of new SSD began in the last quarter.

With dimensions of 16 x 20 mm SSD Toshiba BG is less than the smallest Board size M. 2. They are equipped with interface PCI-Express 3.0 x2 and support the NVMe Protocol.

The drives use flash memory type TLC NAND chips which are packaged in a single housing with the controller. Such chips are produced in volume 128, 256 and 512 GB. Manufacturers of mobile PCs can mount them directly into the motherboard to get more compact and cheaper construction.
