Solid state drives Seagate Words XF1230 designed for data centers

Seagate Technology introduced a series of SSDs Words XF1230, equipped with interface SATA. According to the manufacturer, these SSD size 2.5 inches is optimized for use in data centers for cloud applications.

The drives use flash memory eMLC. The maximum speed of data transmission in read mode declared equal to 560 MB/s. Speed of reading depends on the amount of drive. In the case of a drive capacity of 240 GB it reaches 290 MB/s, 480 GB, and 500 MB/s, 960 GB or 460 MB/s, 1920 GB — 430 MB/s Performance on the operations random access blocks of 4 KB in read mode reaches 98 000 IOPS. In record mode, it also depends on the amount of drive. In the case of a drive capacity of 240 GB, it reaches 8 000 IOPS 480 GB — 15 000 IOPS 960 GB — 16 000 IOPS, 1920 GB — 17 000 IOPS.

Resource drives, depending on the amount of estimated daily record of 0.5 to 0.67 of the full storage volume for the five-year service life. Delivery SSD Seagate XF1230 Words will begin in September.
