Since January, Chrome will warn you about sites that use insecure connection

Chrome version 56, the output of which is scheduled for January 2017, will clearly warn the user if a website that asks to enter the password or other data that uses a regular HTTP connection instead of a secure HTTPS connection.

Now on the presence or absence of a secure connection indicates the presence or absence of the corresponding icon, but the developers found that the user does not pay to this attention sign.

In future versions of Chrome an indication of the lack of encryption will become more apparent.

The developers of the browser encourage website owners to actively switch from HTTP to HTTPS.
