Sharp plans to increase sales of LCD TVs four times in three years

Sharp published a forecast for sales of its LCD TVs for the next three years.

In the current fiscal year, which ends March 31, sales of TVs Sharp will amount to about 5 million units. In the next financial year they should grow to 8 million units, a year — to 10 million televisions. Finally, in the 2020 financial year (1 April 2019 — 31 March 2020) the company plans to sell 20 million LCD TVs.

Given the high cost of production of TVs in Japan, Sharp plans to move some production to Foxconn Electronics factories located in Slovakia, Poland and China. This information was confirmed by Vice-President of Foxconn Electronics and Sharp Executive Director Mr Tay (J. W. Tai). Recall that Foxconn Electronics is a major shareholder of Sharp.
