Shareholders of Harman sued the company because of the deal with Samsung

In November it became known that Samsung Electronics for $ 8 billion to buy the company Harman. The Board of Directors last approved the deal, but later it became known that one of the shareholders announced their intention to vote against the deal, believing that in the near future Harman would be valued much higher.

Now sources report that some shareholders Harman filed a lawsuit against the members of the Board of Directors of the company. The essence is the same: the shareholders believe that $ 8 billion isn’t enough for sale to Harman. In addition, they draw attention to the fact that the agreement between the companies automatically put an end to the search of more lucrative offers.

What are the chances of shareholders to derail the deal, is unclear. But the claim can significantly slow down the merger process.
