Samsung will begin production of TVs using LCD panels from LG in July
In early may it became known that negotiations between Samsung Electronics and LG Display regarding the supply of TV panels reached an impasse.
Today, however, sources said that Samsung Electronics will start producing TV sets using LCD panels that will supply LG Display, in July this year.
It is learned that LG Display will begin production of 40 — and 60-inch panels for premium TVs Samsung Electronics in early July at its plants P7 and P8 located in the city of Paju in Gyeonggi province, South Korea.
The source adds that Samsung and LG have discussed the terms of the contract over the last six months and only recently came to an agreement.
This year, LG Display will ship from 700 thousand to 1 million panels for TVs of the company Samsung, which is eating displays at the BOE and Innolux.
