Samsung to ship an Apple from 70 to 95 million OLED panels for smartphones iPhone this year
According to the publication Nikkei, Apple has placed an order for 70 million OLED panels made by Samsung, which will be used in the iPhone. The sole supplier of screens for the next generation iPhone will be Samsung.
Information published by the Nikkei, provided a source from the supply chain. The same data has IHS analyst at Markit David Hsi (David Hsieh), who notes the following: «this year, Apple has ordered 70 million Samsung OLED panels for smartphones iPhone. However, Samsung can increase exports to 95 million panels, if the demand exceeds expectations.»
The analyst agrees with the theory that in September, the stores will be shortage of the new iPhone with OLED display. The main party will be shipped closer to the end of this year and possibly early next year.
