Samsung is the largest taxpayer in Korea
According to the Investor, in 2015, Samsung Electronics was the largest taxpayer in South Korea. Information published by the Central tax office of Korea (National Assembly Budget Office).
The South Korean giant paid of 2.88 billion dollars in taxes for the year, which amounted to about 7.1% of the company’s revenue. In second place was Hyundai Motor company, which has paid 1.26 billion dollars. Third place was taken by Korea Electric Power Corp., tax which amounted to 1.08 billion dollars. Samsung and Hyundai has paid more than 10% of all corporate taxes in South Korea in 2015.
Also in the top ten largest taxpayers in South Korea got SK hynix, LG Chem, Hyundai Mobis, Kia Motors, E-mart and SK Telecom.
