Samsung has received permission to test unmanned vehicles

The Ministry of land, infrastructure and transport of South Korea today approved a request by Samsung Electronics in which the company requested permission to begin testing unmanned vehicles.

This resolution allows Samsung to begin to test appropriate vehicles on public roads. It is worth noting that the company has no plans to produce cars, it will confine myself to relevant technologies and equipment. The first self-driving cars are manufactured by Samsung, Hyundai Motor company, and then are equipped with cameras, sensors and so on.

«This resolution does not mean that Samsung is planning to release self-driving cars, says a representative of Samsung Electronics. — We will test ON our solutions for unmanned vehicles, nothing more.»

From February 2016, the Ministry of land, infrastructure and transport of South Korea has issued about 20 such permits. First got Hyundai Motor.
