Samsung Exynos SOC 7872 will get a six-core CPU and a modem that supports all frequencies
According to the sources, Samsung is working on single-chip system Exynos 7872. We will remind, now the company has Exynos 7870, produced on 14-nanometer process technology and contains eight cores Cortex-A53.
Exynos 7872, according to preliminary data, can not be called a direct replacement for an existing SoC. Though, because the number of CPU cores will be reduced to six. Although it will be four Cortex-A53 and two Cortex-A73, so performance may be even greater. GPU will remain the same: Mali-T830MP2.
Exynos 7872 will be produced using process technology LLP 14, which should further reduce power consumption. It is also noted modem that will support all frequencies, in contrast to the same Exynos 7870. The first smartphones with the new platform are expected in October this year.
