Samsung Display is credited with the intention to start production of OLED panels of the seventh generation for mobile devices
Samsung Display is 95% of the market of OLED panels for smartphones. Research firm UBI Research is confident that the Korean manufacturer wants to increase the gap from the competition by starting production of OLED panels of the seventh generation for mobile devices.
The representative of UBI Research said that while competitors Samsung will master the manufacture of OLED display sixth generation, the company will establish production of next-generation panels, which are large in physical dimensions.
These panels should be produced at the production line of Samsung A4 which will be launched in the second quarter of next year. The delay at the moment due to the lack of necessary equipment for production. Analysts believe that Samsung Display may use equipment that is already used for the production of OLED TV panels of the eighth generation
Samsung Display is also credited with the intention to further expand its product portfolio, in particular, due to the curved display, which will also allow the company to strengthen its position.
