Samsung Bixby 2.0 — the same voice assistant, but now aimed at a wider range of devices

Yesterday at the event Samsung Developer Conference 2017 the Korean giant introduced the platform Bixby 2.0. It’s the same voice assistant Bixby, but now aimed at completely different market segments.

Samsung, Amazon and Google, wants its voice assistant used in various devices. The company says about smartphones, tablets, TVs, refrigerators, sound systems, and other usual products. For example, TVs with support for Bixby will appear in the next year.

Samsung itself calls Bixby 2.0 rethinking of the platform. In fact, most likely, easy rebranding needed due to the fact that Bixby extremely unsuccessfully started.

Of course, for the realization Bixby should be available to third party developers, and promises to implement Samsung. It will not happen immediately. The company says that at the initial stage will increase the number of participants in beta testing, and only then make Bixby SDK available to all.
