Represented Intel Core eighth generation, through which the company will release three different families of CPU

Intel today introduced the Intel Core eighth generation. Only this announcement was not the way we expected. First, presented only four CPU families Core i5 and Core i7. Second, they are called not Coffee Lake, Kaby Lake Refresh.

So, first about the processor.

So, as you can see, mobile family CPU U have now become a Quad which is one of the most impressive changes at Intel over the years. In addition, it has been achieved while maintaining a TDP of 15 watts. However, the gift, of course, it was not given. As you can see, the frequency is significantly lower than predecessors. Moreover, all new items received Junior UHD GPU Graphics 620, while some CPU Kaby Lake is used — Plus Iris Graphics 640. That is, in some tasks, the new processors can even give old, but overall should be a very significant advantage, particularly in data-intensive applications. Also the real consumption of new products, most likely, will be higher still.

We now turn to the no less interesting part of the presentation of Intel. In recent times, we repeatedly asked the questions about the logic of producing new generations of CPUs. Finally, we got answers. The thing is that now one numbered generation Intel processors may include a few different from an architectural point of view generations of CPU. More specifically, the eighth generation of the Core will finally consist not only of models Kaby Lake Refresh, but processors Coffee Lake and even Cannonlake.

Likely, Intel has decided to do so little to organize that too many new solutions, which will be released in a short period of time. Intel promises desktop models of the eighth generation in the fall, without specifying the timing. Apparently, these processors will be referred to Coffee Lake-S, but they could also be called Kaby Lake Refresh. Further, in the eighth generation will be even the change process, as decisions will be Cannonlake 10-nanometrovymi. In the end it all fits together, as the ninth generation, as we already know, will be called Ice Lake. However, it probably means that the transition to Intel processors back to one architectural generation to one number.
