Renesas will supply processors for self-driving cars Toyota
Renesas Electronics today announced that it will supply the processors for self-driving Toyota cars that should be on the market in 2020.
We are talking about a dedicated single-chip system Renesas R-Car, realizing the functions of the driver assistance system.
For self-managed movement is intended the combination of these two chips. The first is to provide «high-precision position information and in real time to make decisions related to active safety and machine control».
The second chip that bears the notation RH850, will control the movement using the acceleration, braking and steering movements. Directly engine management will be assigned to the control unit of the production Denso — largest supplier of Toyota.
