Qualcomm has started the delivery of «the world’s first 10-nanometer server processors»

Qualcomm announced the start of deliveries of trial samples of «the world’s first 10-nanometer server processors». These processors included in the series Qualcomm Centriq 2400, models of which have up to 48 cores Qualcomm proprietary Falkor based on the instruction set architecture ARMv8.

According to Qualcomm, the new processors are manufactured on a 10-nanometer FinFET technology optimized for performance criteria and energy efficiency. As stated, they are designed for «most common tasks of computing centres».

Introducing the new processors, Qualcomm showed work ON Apache Spark and Hadoop in a Linux environment and Java on the Qualcomm Centriq 2400. Commercially available new processors will be in the second half of 2017.
