Published specification PCI Express 4.0

As expected, the organization of PCI-SIG involved in the development and standardization of PCI Express (PCIe) has published a PCI Express 4.0 specification version 1.0.

Compared with the PCI Express 3.0 specification, which was adopted almost seven years ago, the maximum speed of data transmission on the PCI Express bus is doubled from 8 to 16 GT/s. In addition, reduced latency, improved scalability, and support virtualization.

Meanwhile, the PCI SIG continues to develop the PCI-Express version 5.0 should be ready in the second quarter of 2019. At the moment, preliminary version 0.3.
