Processor Ryzen Threadripper 1950X compared with Core i9 7900X multiple tests
So, what can the AMD Ryzen, we are already familiar. They are very good at some tasks and not so impressive in others. But AMD has other new items: CPU Ryzen Threadripper related to the so-called HEDT segment.
The flagship of this line is now the model Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, with 16 cores with frequencies up to 4 GHz. This processor is $ 1000. For the same $ 1,000 offers a brand new Intel Core i9 7900X, which has 10 cores with a frequency of 4.3 GHz.
The source compared the PK data of the CPU, adding to the list of models Core i7-7700K and Ryzen 7 1800X. The results can be seen in the diagrams below.
As you can see, the situation is ambiguous. To get started shall analyze non-gaming tests. In Cinebench R15 the undisputed leader by a wide margin is the brainchild of AMD, which bypasses the main competitor by about 35%. In Blender very significant advantage Ryzen Threadripper saved.
In gaming tests, the situation is different. In 3DMark the AMD processor loses to some opponent in two tests and significantly — remaining. In the game Rise of the Tomb Raider the formal leadership of the Intel systems, however, in absolute terms the difference is irrelevant.
