Philips 492P8 — one monitor with aspect ratio 32:9, but is now significantly less expensive

It seems that not only Samsung has little of the aspect ratio 21:9 monitors. As it turned out, at the IFA exhibition in 2017 the same monitor and were shown at the stand of Philips.

The model is called 492P8. As a product of Samsung, this monitor got a 49-inch curved VA panel with a resolution of 3840 x 1080 pixels. A source says a maximum brightness of 600 CD/m2, 5000:1 contrast. It is known that the manufacturer of the panels for this model is also Samsung, so it’s exactly the same panel that Samsung CHG90. Overall, however, monitors to name the twins, as the Philips do not use the technology of quantum dots.

The set of ports of the novelties presented DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA, USB 3.0 (x2) and Gigabit Ethernet. Selling Philips 492P8 will appear in the second quarter of next year at a price of about 1080 dollars. For comparison, the Samsung is estimated at $ 1,500.
