Panasonic invests more than 256 million dollars in the company Tesla for the production of solar panels
Deepening a cooperation with Tesla Motors, Panasonic is investing more than $ 256 million in the U.S.-based production of solar panels, which will belong to Tesla. The partners expect to begin production of photovoltaic modules in 2017, and by 2019 to bring the total capacity of panels made for the year up to 1 GW.
Panasonic recently trying to move from production of consumer electronics, bringing a small profit, automotive components and other products intended for corporate customers.
For the first time that Tesla and Panasonic will cooperate in the production of solar cells, was announced in October, but then the partners did not disclose more details of cooperation.
