Nokia tested the 3D Touch technology to mobile devices long before Apple
In 2015, Huawei and Apple has implemented in their smartphones technology contactless touch 3D Touch. However, they were not the first who became interested in it. As it turned out, Nokia had tested this technology for mobile devices long before Apple, back in 2013. Unfortunately, the Finnish manufacturer has never used the prospective development of the serial devices.
The fact that the testing of the prototypes revealed a lot of problems. Earlier it was considered that appropriate development was performed in the framework of the project McLaren, involving the use of a contactless touch input in a fairly high-end smartphone running Microsoft Windows Mobile.
However, there were earlier project Midas, the Foundation of which was the device on Snapdragon S4 SoC with 1 GB of RAM.
The device was equipped with a display size of 4.5 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels.
